Audi builds cars that ride well and perform hard, but no drivetrain is exempt from wear, and the transmission is the assembly where wear gets expensive fastest.
Slipping between gears, shaking under acceleration, or a delay when you shift are the early indicators. Grinding or whining noises and a dashboard warning light follow.
